Tetherow - Skene Trail

The homeowners came to us with build-ready plans from Darren Thomas Architecture and Planning, which was great. Our team has built his designs before and they turned out beautifully. This home is on a prime lot in Tetherow with views from Broken Top to Mt. Jefferson with a picturesque swath of golf course in the foreground. Steve Grabenhorst worked with the clients and their interior designer to make sure all of the selections were dialed-in and installed as intended to capture the clients’ vision. The tall expanses of glass capture the amazing views and create a strong connection to the outdoor living spaces. A mixture of tinted concrete slabs, flagstone steps, and a wooden entry bridge defines spaces and leads you through a landscaped courtyard to the home. A mixture of covered and open outdoor spaces flanked by board formed concrete step down as you move out from the house and down to the fire pit and hot tub, preserving the golf course views from the house while maintaining mountain views from all of the spaces. The palette of materials; unique juniper siding areas, broken-up with rectilinear panels creates a varied mass and breaks-up large blocks with lower profile elements. The lack of overhangs gives the home a striking profile and a strong verticality, accentuating the mass of certain areas. We feel fortunate that we were able to bring this design to life and are proud of how our team’s hard work turned-out.
