From the outside, this home has a very private, yet inviting feel with a landscaped entry courtyard accessed through a wrought iron gate between massive stone columns that support timber trusses and a gable roof. Immediately after entering the home from the deep covered porch, the view of the golf course through the Great Room window wall is hard to miss. The beam work from outside carries through and large trusses frame the stone fireplace. The Master Bedroom and one Guest Suite are on opposite sides of the main floor with a second Guest Bedroom on the upper floor, separated from the Media Room by a Guest Bathroom. This layout, as well as sound insulation in the walls and floor, allows for loud movies or TV well after others have gone to bed in the Master on the opposite end of the house. Facing the golf course, an Outdoor Kitchen with a patio heater extends the comfortable outdoor time well into winter, even in Bend, Oregon.

Kristy Yozamp and our clients did an amazing job coming up with the right combination of tile, granite, and cabinets to create very distinct spaces.  The unique full-height back-splashes found in the Kitchen, Butler’s Pantry, Utility Room, and bar really finish those rooms off nicely. They worked closely with Bladt’s Custom Woodworking to dial in all of the cabinetry; from the layout of the master closet to the design of the hood over the range, no detail was left to chance. No two rooms are finished the same, but all of them come together to make a home that is truly better than the sum of its parts. 

Accessed by a broad stairway, the Upper Floor houses three Guest Suites with private Baths and window seats almost large enough to sleep on. On the other end of the Upper Floor, a Lanai offers a bug-free outdoor space as well as elevated views of the front of the property. Separated by the fourth full Guest Bath is a large, functional Study with beautiful built-in desks, shelves, and display spaces for art work and memorabilia.

Kristy Yozamp has maintained a strong relationship with these homeowners since the home was built years ago and continued to help them find new artwork and furniture because they had so much fun figuring out all of the interior design, furnishings, and artwork in this home. No room is without the rustic, lodge style the homeowners wanted, but none of the rooms are finished the same, which makes for rooms with very distinct character that feel like a part of the greater whole. Generous use of stone and thick, chiseled edge slabs for the counter tops added to the solid overall feel of the home. The wrought iron grillwork on the two stone fireplaces, the hand-scraped hickory floors, the bead board detailing on the walls and ceiling, and the many antler-inspired fixtures, including the moose head, really make this home feel like a comfortable cabin in the woods.
